I remember playing ‘skullzie’ on 69th street between New Utrecht and 16th Avenues in the late ‘70s Brooklyn. Endless hours of scraping the caps on the cement so they would slide better, coming up with cooler melted crayon designs, and bloody knuckles from flicking the caps. I moved to suburban Jersey in ‘79 and tried teaching my friends there how to play. Like teaching curling to someone from Texas. I miss that game.
